Would this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
There are a few main weaknesses that are holding back the Toronto Raptors this season. There is a lack of a starting-caliber center in the lineup and the outright lack of bench scoring both have been concerns.
In this NBA trade scenario, the Raptors would be taking a chance on Myles Turner, an elite rim protector with defensive versatility and pairing him with the likes of OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, and Scottie Barnes. The level of versatility would make scoring on Toronto a daunting task.
The stretch-five skill-set that Turner brings offensively would open the half-court offense in a needed way given they have a trio of wings that like to operate in the mid-post. It wouldn’t hurt to pull the opposing big out of the way to make it easier for Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. to attack, either.
The Raptors possess a lot of size, athleticism, and power at the three and four spot. Making it all the more challenging for an opposing rim protector to help would maximize the Raptors’ offense.

Keep in mind, Turner has developed the ability to get to the rim from out on the perimeter quite nicely. He’s improved as a contact finisher in the paint and can duck-in to post-up mismatches with much greater effectiveness at this stage of his NBA career.
