This Lakers-Rockets Trade Gets LeBron James More Help

Los Angeles Lakers, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA to this point of the season. After another busy offseason, Los Angeles was expected to come into the year as one of the favorites to win the championship. Instead, the moves have not paid off.

This is one of the worst regular seasons and LeBron James has been a part of his career. He has never been under .500 this late in the season. It seems to be getting late quickly for Los Angeles. That is why the NBA trade deadline could be a very important checkpoint for the front office.

They have continued to be aggressive in order to build a winner but some have backfired to this point. There are plenty of veteran options available that could fill a hole right away.

The Houston Rockets come to mind immediately as a potential trade partner for the Lakers. Houston brought in a new front office last year and had a fire sale right away. There are still some veterans on the roster that likely be moved in a trade, such as John Wall and Eric Gordon. Los Angeles has been linked to both and it could make sense for a deal to get done.

The Rockets are going to continue to be one of the worst teams in the league until they can fully build around Jalen Green, who is selected with the second-overall pick in this year’s draft.

We are now officially in February which means the NBA trade deadline is right around the corner. It is time for teams to seriously consider some options and this could be one that plays out between Los Angeles and Houston.
