Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G James Harden
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, F Georges Niang
Remember, if this deal were to get done, it would be a sign-and-trade. Since James Harden would be a free agent, the Brooklyn Nets wouldn’t really have any leverage in the deal, other than the fact that they could deny a sign-and-trade. (If that were to happen, it would create a pretty crazy scenario.)
Harden has bounced back from a slow start this season, but his efficiency is still a bit rough.. He’s putting up 23.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 10.1 assists while shooting 42.0 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from three-point range.
Meanwhile, Ben Simmons hasn’t appeared in a game for the Philadelphia 76ers yet this season. However, just last year he was a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. There are obvious concerns to be had about Simmons, but the Nets could make do.
Lastly, Georges Niang would have to be included in this sign-and-trade deal in order to match salaries.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Teams Sound Really Worried About James Harden Going To Sixers
He’s played well for the Sixers this year, putting up 9.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 39.0 percent from deep.
This deal would see one of the league’s best guards join forces with one of the best centers in the NBA. Meanwhile, the Nets would be getting an elite defensive presence to pair alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
