Collin Sexton

This move seems like the ultimate gamble for Orlando but if they were to pull it off, it would be clear that they have a plan. Collin Sexton has missed a lot of this season with a knee injury and the Cleveland Cavaliers continue to excel in his absence. After seeing how the team looks without him, Sexton could be on the trading block.

This was a rumor in the offseason but nothing serious came to fruition. There were alleged problems in the locker room with Sexton’s shot selection last season.

The front office decided to hang onto their point guard but have seen another step up. Darius Garland is playing at an All-Star level and could be the point guard of the future for the Cavs.

With Sexton eligible for an extension, this could be the time for the Orlando Magic to trade him. This would be a gamble for Orlando, especially if they have to pay the point guard.

Because of the contract situation, it is clear that Orlando would have a plan if they went after Sexton. He is a strong player in the backcourt and would make the team better but it is a move that might not make sense financially. It would certainly be a blockbuster deal and an interesting one at that.
