The NBA’s Sunday slate of action is full of intriguing matchups while many will be focused on watching Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs take on Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game, followed by the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams facing each each other in an NFC West rivalry showdown in the NFC Championship Game.

For those focused on the NBA (or at least playing Daily Fantasy Sports), there are eight matchups including the following schedule:

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks (1:00 PM ET)
LA Clippers vs Charlotte Hornets (1:00 PM ET)
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Chicago Bulls (3:30 PM ET)
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons (6:00 PM ET)
Denver Nuggets vs. Milwaukee Bucks (7:00 PM ET)
Dallas Mavericks vs. Orlando Magic (7:00 PM ET)
Utah Jazz vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (8:00 PM ET)
San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns (8:00 PM ET)

The injury reports are kept to a minimum in terms of the meaningful rotation players that are on a day-to-day basis with their injury—excluding names like Collin Sexton, who is sidelined with a torn ACL.

Here is the latest NBA injury news ahead of the Jan. 30 matchups around the league:

LA Clippers vs. Charlotte Hornets

LA Clippers Injury Report: Nicolas Batum (Back) OUT

With Paul George and Kawhi Leonard both experiencing long-term injuries, the only name on the LA Clippers’ day-to-day injury report is Nicolas Batum and he has already been ruled out. Terance Mann and Marcus Morris Sr. will be relied upon more to fill frontcourt responsibilities against the Charlotte Hornets.

Charlotte Hornets Injury Report: Kelly Oubre Jr. (Ankle) QUESTIONABLE, Gordon Hayward (H&S Protocol) TBD

The Charlotte Hornets did not have Kelly Oubre Jr. in their previous outing and it remains to be seen if Gordon Hayward will be available to play against the LA Clippers after being in the NBA’s health and safety protocol. Miles Bridges and PJ Washington will be relied upon more if even one of those players are ruled out from playing against the Atlanta Hawks.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks

Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report: LeBron James (knee) OUT, Anthony Davis (wrist) ACTIVE, Russell Westbrook (knee) PROBABLE, Malik Monk (groin) PROBABLE

It will be another game for the Los Angeles Lakers without LeBron James in the lineup. His knee continues to have swelling and the team is just not going to chance it in the regular season. Anthony Davis is set to be in the lineup as he deals with wrist issues. Meanwhile, it’s likely that Russell Westbrook and Malik Monk will play, too.

Atlanta Hawks Injury Report: Trae Young (Hip) GTD, De’Andre Hunter (Ankle) GTD

It remains to be seen if Trae Young or De’Andre Hunter will end up playing when the Atlanta Hawks take on the Los Angeles Lakers. Young suffered a new injury and that’s always worth monitoring. The team could be forced to rely on the likes of Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Hurter, and Danilo Gallinari if Hunter is unable to play.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons

Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio are both out for the long haul and there’s nothing notable from a day-to-day perspective for the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons matchup.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Chicago Bulls

Portland Trail Blazers Injury Report: Robert Covington (Knee) PROBABLE, Dennis Smith Jr. (Ankle) PROBABLE, Norman Powell (Knee) PROBABLE

The Portland Trail Blazers remain without Damian Lillard that takes him beyond a day-to-day mention on a meaningful injury report. Robert Covington, Dennis Smith Jr., and Norman Powell all are expected to play against the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, their opponent has all longer term injuries for notable players like Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, but nothing that’s hanging in the balance yet to be determined.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Orlando Magic

Dallas Mavericks Injury Report: Kristaps Porzingis (Knee) OUT

Kristaps Porzingis was unable to play beyond 11 minutes of action during the Dallas Mavericks’ win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night due to a knee injury. He will not be playing on the second night of the team’s back-to-back when they host the Orlando Magic and has already been ruled out.

Denver Nuggets Injury Report: Will Barton (Illness) PROBABLE

The Milwaukee Bucks will have all of their star talents like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday as they take on the Denver Nuggets with Nikola Jokic. As for the Nuggets, their only day-to-day injury as the moment is actually an illness for Will Barton but he’s expected to play.

Utah Jazz vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Utah Jazz Injury Report: Rudy Gobert (Calf) OUT, Donovan Mitchell (Concussion) OUT

It will be a short-handed night for the Utah Jazz given Rudy Gobert already has been ruled out for the matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This will continue to be a night where every member of the Jazz has to step up in order to avoid another loss.

Minnesota Timberwolves Injury Report: D’Angelo Russell (Shin) QUESTIONABLE, Patrick Beverley (Ankle) QUESTIONABLE, Josh Okogie (Quad) QUESTIONABLE

The Minnesota Timberwolves may end up being without D’Angelo Russell for this matchup with Patrick Beverley also possibly joining him as an inactive. Anthony Edwards will be needed to handle a heavy load and perhaps Malik Beasley will be needed a bit more.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns

San Antonio Spurs Injury Report: Dejounte Murray (Ankle) OUT, Derrick White (Rest) OUT, Jakob Poeltl (Back) OUT

It will be a shorthanded San Antonio Spurs taking on the Phoenix Suns in this game. Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, and Jakob Poeltl are each already ruled out. Keep a close eye on Devin Vassell having more opportunities.

Phoenix Suns Injury Report: Deandre Ayton (Ankle) QUESTIONABLE, Jae Crowder (Wrist) QUESTIONABLE, JaVale McGee (Knee) QUESTIONABLE

There has been quite a few games now that Deandre Ayton has been unable to play for the Phoenix Suns due to an ankle injury, but he’s now considered questionable to play. Jalen Smith will be a name to watch closely if one of Ayton or JaVale McGee are unable to play.
