3 Wings For Memphis Grizzlies To Target At Trade Deadline

Memphis Grizzlies, NBA Trade Rumors

One of the biggest surprises thus far during the 2021-22 NBA season has been the play of the Memphis Grizzlies. First-time All-Star Ja Morant is the leader of this young Grizzlies team and while they may be inexperienced, they look like a group of 10-year NBA veterans!

Memphis showed flashes of their full potential last season and after taking down the Spurs and Warriors en route to the 8-seed in the Western Conference, the Grizzlies went on to prove that they can beat the best of the best after winning Game 1 of their first-round series in Utah.

50 games into this season, the Grizzlies find themselves 33-17 and as the 3-seed in the Western Conference. Ranking 9th in the league in offensive rating and 8th in defensive rating, there are very few flaws to this Grizzlies team.

With the trade deadline less than two weeks away, Memphis is not going to look to shake up their roster too much given all the success they have had during the first-half of the season.

However, NBA insider Marc Stein wrote recently that the Grizzlies are searching for wing depth to bolster their position in the Western Conference standings.

Desmond Bane has been a revelation on the perimeter for the Grizzlies this season and has been one of the league’s most improved players along with All-Star Ja Morant, but Dillon Brooks has only played in 21 games this season and Kyle Anderson has only played in 38 games.

Brooks and Anderson are two integral parts of the Grizzlies’ rotation that have missed time, hence why Memphis could be searching for more wing talent at the trade deadline.

The Grizzlies are currently $5M over the salary cap and about $19M under the tax line, giving them plenty of room to make a potential move over the course of the next couple of weeks. Not to mention, Memphis also has a $4M TPE that they can use ahead of the deadline.

Should we expect the Memphis Grizzlies to add talent on the wing ahead of the trade deadline this season? Here are three potential targets for them to consider.
