Would this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
The Houston Rockets are the ultimate rebuilding team in the NBA. They sent away huge names last year and could take the next step in their fire-sale. Names like Christian Wood and Eric Gordon could be first on the list.
It does not benefit the team to keep their big round long-term because he is not signed and will bring more in a trade. Houston used a draft pick on Alperen Sengun this year. He is a big man that needs to develop in Houston’s system and could do so with an extended role.
With Wood out of the picture, this is what he would get. Wood wanted to play next to other stars and was going to have that chance before the locker room was cleared out. Houston has two options.
They could look for prospects and draft capital or look for short-term contracts that are easy to move. That is what the Mavericks could offer and it all comes down to what the Rockets are willing to accept.

If the two sides come to terms, it could benefit both in many ways. It will be interesting to see the direction Houston goes in their rebuild and if they want the draft capital or players.
