New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans started the 2021-22 season 7-20 and it looked like all of their playoff hopes were snuffed out before the team even had a chance to prove themselves.
Now, the Pelicans have worked their way to 18-29 on the season and have a core group that when healthy, looks like a playoff team. The two problems with this team right now though are that they do not have a reliable point guard and they are lacking overall depth. Obviously Zion Williamson being out is a major problem too for this Pelicans team!
Devonte’ Graham was a key offseason signing for the Pelicans and while he has played well, Graham is not known to be a primary facilitator. In Charlotte, he was utilized as a key three-point shooting threat and is much better coming off-screens without the ball than having to make plays for everyone else.
Actually having a reliable, young point guard on this team like De’Aaron Fox, the Pelicans would suddenly have a new “Big 3” in the Western Conference consisting of Fox, Ingram and Williamson, all of which are 24-years-old or younger.

One possible trade package to make this deal work for the Pelicans and Kings could very well be New Orleans offering up Josh Hart, Trey Murphy III, Tomas Satoransky and multiple draft picks.
After trading away Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday the last two years, New Orleans has plenty of draft capital that they could play around with, giving them the necessary assets that Sacramento could be interested in should they talk about trading away De’Aaron Fox.

It is definitely still a long-shot to believe that the Kings will be looking to trade away Fox within the next two weeks, but the Pelicans need a young point guard and should absolutely be interested in him right now.
