Jerami Grant Could Wind Up Staying In Detroit
Since the start of the season, Jerami Grant has been receiving trade interest around the league and his thumb injury really has not affected his trade value.
On December 16, Jerami Grant underwent a successful surgical procedure to repair the UCL ligament on his right thumb and the Pistons said that he would be re-evaluated in six weeks. Since then, Grant has resumed working out with the team and has jumped between the Pistons and their G-League affiliate to try and get back to full-speed.
Grant is expected to be 100% in the coming weeks and there should not be any limitations to his game after the surgical procedure done on his right thumb.
According to Shams Charania, the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams interested in Jerami Grant this season, but there is also a strong chance of Grant remaining with the Pistons through the trade deadline this season.

There is interest within the Detroit Pistons’ front-office to trade Jerami Grant while his value is at an all-time high, but Grant does have a very strong relationship with GM Troy Weaver and according to NBA Insider Marc Stein, the Pistons are “split” on whether to trade their star forward at the deadline.
Both the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings have come on as suitors for Grant in recent weeks and the Kings appear to be very interested in trading for him if possible. The only problem with Sacramento right now is that the assets they have in Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III may not be what the Pistons have in mind for Jerami Grant.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Grant and his agent provided the Pistons with a list of preferred destinations in the event that the team decides to trade him.

Jerami Grant not only wants to be somewhere that he is valued as an elite-level two-way player, but he also wants to be a part of a team that is willing to commit to him long-term. Windhorst stated that Grant would like to see a contract extension upwards of $100M this offseason, which narrows things down of who is actually included on this list given to the front-office from Grant.
Still being one of the hottest names on the trade block because of his two-way play at either forward position, Jerami Grant is going to receive trade interest right up to the final seconds of the trade deadline.
