Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn are both interesting names for Houston to consider, but they really have no reason to want to make this deal. Eric Gordon’s contract is unfavorable to them, yet they have shown no signs of wanting to just “dump” him for any kind of value they can get.
Over the last several weeks, Eric Gordon has generated a ton of interest on the trade block from various playoff contending teams. Some have been skeptical about his contract and age, but the Houston Rockets have still received several offers for the veteran according to The Athletic’s Kelly Iko.
However, Houston has turned down every offer they have received and Iko states that the Rockets will need to receive an offer that “ simply can’t be ignored” if they are to trade Eric Gordon.
All season long, Eric Gordon has been the veteran leader of this young, rebuilding franchise and he has not shown that he wants to be traded. Obviously he would probably welcome being traded to a championship contending team, but Gordon truly does enjoy playing in Houston as an active member of this organization.

The Houston Rockets are interested in trading veterans like John Wall, D.J. Augustin and Eric Gordon away, but this deal simply with the Lakers simply does not offer them enough value to show interest, especially since they would have to give up two second-round picks to Los Angeles.
