Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F Marcus Morris Sr., G Eric Bledsoe, F/C Serge Ibaka
LA Clippers Receive: G Russell Westbrook, C DeAndre Jordan, F Trevor Ariza, LAL 2023 2nd Round Pick, LAL 2025 2nd Round Pick
Any trade involving Russell Westbrook would be a shock at the trade deadline simply because of how much his value has declined since joining the Lakers. Westbrook seems to be the only NBA All-Star that gets a ton of criticism every single time he plays, but he has been very underwhelming next to LeBron James this season.
Westbrook’s 18.6 points per game is his lowest scoring output since the 2009-10 season and on top of that, he is averaging about 4.1 turnovers per game. On the season, Russell Westbrook has recorded 17 games with at least 5 turnovers, which ranks second in the league behind James Harden (24).
Trading Russell Westbrook for John Wall from the Rockets certainly remains a possibility for the Los Angeles Lakers this season, but this trade with the LA Clippers has a lot to offer the Lakers.
Not only do they get out of paying Russ and dealing with him being a liability in the backcourt, but the Lakers also get rid of two veterans that do not have much of an impact in DeAndre Jordan and Trevor Ariza.

On the receiving end of things, the Lakers add a key scorer on the wing, which they desperately need, in Marcus Morris Sr. and they add key depth in the backcourt and frontcourt with Eric Bledsoe and Serge Ibaka.
None of these players make the Lakers a championship contender again, but the value they bring as role players and secondary scorers off-the-bench is a lot more than Westbrook, Jordan and Ariza currently bring.
There is not much value to be had here from the Clippers’ point of view, especially since they are looking to add future value at the expense of veterans this season, but maybe pairing Russell Westbrook with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard can actually work out.
After all, Westbrook played with George in Oklahoma City for two seasons and there was some talk about the Clippers possibly pursuing Russell Westbrook in the offseason when he was still with the Wizards.

It is a long-shot to believe this interest is still relevant, but a trade between the LA Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers could wind up working out financially. The only question that remains is if the Clippers would actually be willing to make this trade?
