Jerami Grant is one of the most sought after players at the trade deadline this NBA season. Now in his second season with the Detroit Pistons, Grant is currently sidelined due to right thumb surgery, but he is expected to be returning to the court in the coming weeks and is one of the best two-way combo-forwards in the league.

Since joining the Pistons on a three-year, $60M deal ahead of last season, Grant has averaged 21.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and has shot 42.5% from the floor. Continuing to be a high-impact player this season, Jerami Grant’s value is at an all-time high right now, hence why there is so much interest in him around the league.

The Pistons though are not eager to trade him away, even though they are interested in hearing offers from any teams interested in him. Basically, for Detroit to trade Grant within the next three weeks, they will have to be receiving a ton of value.

The idea of trading Jerami Grant right now while his value is high certainly makes sense for the Pistons, especially if they can get a grand return for him, but Grant himself also has a lot of say in a potential trade.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, Grant has “little interest” in joining a new team in which he is not featured as a primary offensive weapon. If this is true, then teams like the Lakers and Trail Blazers may immediately be taken out of the equation, but a team like the Washington Wizards still remains.

Currently 23-21, the Wizards are right in the thick of things in the Eastern Conference playoff picture this season, but they are still lacking firepower to be a real threat.

Bradley Beal is one of the best scorers in the league and both Kyle Kuzma and Spencer Dinwiddie have emerged as two key secondary talents next to him, but Washington really needs another star they can lean on.

While he is not an All-Star talent, Jerami Grant’s role in Washington would not change compared to what it is now in Detroit and he could immediately become the No. 2 option on the wing for this team. Could the Wizards be the team that ends up with Jerami Grant ahead of the trade deadline?

Let’s take a look at what this trade could wind up looking like between theWashington Wizards and Detroit Pistons.
