Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Bryn Forbes
San Antonio Spurs Receive: G/F Kent Bazemore, C DeAndre Jordan, LAL 2023 2nd Round Pick, LAL 2025 2nd Round Pick

Assuming that they are not trading away Talen Horton-Tucker or Kendrick Nunn, their two best trade assets, the only way for the Los Angeles Lakers to absorb a $4M contract like Forbes’ is to send out two minimum contracts like they do in this deal.

Kent Bazemore and DeAndre Jordan are both two experienced veterans that had Lakers fans excited at the beginning of the season, but neither player has really played well in their bench roles.

In 25 games with the Lakers this season, Bazemore is averaging just 4.0 points, his lowest since his rookie season in Golden State during the 2012-13 season, and the veteran wing is only shooting 33% from the floor.

DeAndre Jordan was supposed to be an impactful center for Los Angeles, but he has only seen about 13.0 minutes per game and is only averaging 4.3 points and 5.5 rebounds.

If they can flip both Bazemore and Jordan for value, the Lakers will be interested, hence why Bryn Forbes could make a lot of sense for them. He is a really strong catch-and-shoot presence in the backcourt and Forbes is a proven championship role player.

The problem with this trade though is with the San Antonio Spurs and if they would be interested in dealing Forbes.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Spurs have made Bryn Forbes available in trade talks recently and multiple teams, including the Denver Nuggets, have reached out to them about a potential trade.

Should several teams be interested in Forbes, the Los Angeles Lakers will be in trouble because they really do not have valuable assets to offer up to a rebuilding franchise like San Antonio.

The Spurs would likely waive DeAndre Jordan upon arrival, keep Kent Bazemore for the rest of the season and get two second-round picks that they can utilize however they see fit over the next handful of years.

Is this enough value for the Spurs to take on for Bryn Forbes?
