Dennis Schroder

The Boston Celtics signed Dennis Schroder to a small one-year, $5.9M contract this past offseason with the mindset of flipping him for assets at the trade deadline. While Schroder has been having a great season with Boston, this still remains the mindset, especially if the Celtics can add pieces to their roster to help them be a real playoff threat this season.

Dennis Schroder is not going to remain in Boston past this season given that they just extended the contract of Marcus Smart, so Schroder should be regarded as one of the better backcourt players in the NBA available in trade talks at the deadline.

The Dallas Mavericks could use another primary ball-handler next to Luka Doncic and while Jalen Brunson has emerged as this kind of player, Dennis Schroder could do a lot of things to help the Mavericks.

Defensively, Dallas ranks 4th in the league, but their offense is still really bad given all of their inconsistencies shooting. Schroder may not help them in that department, but he is averaging 15.7 points per game this season on 43.5% from the floor.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Five Key Predictions Ahead Of The NBA Trade Deadline

In Oklahoma City a few years back, Dennis Schroder was considered one of the better “sixth-man” in the league and in this role with the Celtics, the 28-year-old point guard has really thrived.

Being a bench player in Dallas could really help Dennis Schroder increase his value heading into an offseason that he hopes to get paid in and he could help make the Mavericks a better offensive team overall.

What the Dallas Mavericks have to offer the Boston Celtics in return for Dennis Schroder is a big mystery, but he is certainly on their radar ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
