Kelly Olynyk Among Names Drawing Trade Interest
As for Kelly Olynyk, he has been sidelined since facing the Houston Rockets on November 10 after he suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his right knee. Olynyk has not played since suffering this injury, but he was available in the Detroit Pistons’ loss to the Suns on Sunday and should be ready to return to action this week.
The 30-year-old big man signed a three-year, $37.1M deal with the Pistons this past offseason after drawing interest from a few different playoff threats.
After averaging 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and shooting 34.2% from three-point range last season with both the Heat and Rockets, Olynyk has continued to be a dual-threat big man in terms of rebounding and shooting for the Pistons this season.
Compared to Jerami Grant, Kelly Olynyk is not drawing as much trade interest, but there are certainly some teams out there who still view Olynyk as an impactful stretch big man. Teams will want to get a look over the next few weeks at how his injured knee holds up, but his injury is not expected to linger long-term.

Still being several years away from turning things around, the Detroit Pistons should be very receptive to trade talks surrounding their veterans at the trade deadline.
Jerami Grant and Kelly Olynyk both present a path to success for the Pistons as a franchise, but the value they can return in a trade for either of them could be too much to pass up on this season.
