Would this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?
Some Los Angeles Lakers fans may not be happy with this trade. In their mind, Talen Horton-Tucker has enough value to net an All-Star-caliber player to pair with the big three out in Los Angeles. But does he really have that much value?
In reality, Horton-Tucker has played so poorly this season that his value has probably tanked a bit. Obviously, if he was playing better, then the Lakers wouldn’t want to trade him, but since he’s not, his trade value is down. It’s an age-old issue.
That being said, Lakers fans should be thrilled to get this sort of return for Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn. Eric Gordon may not be the flashiest name out there on the trade market, but in terms of players who can help the Lakers, he’s towards the top of the list.
Gordon would provide elite off-ball shooting and a ton of extra scoring. All those times that no one on the Lakers can shoot the three-ball would slowly come to an end with Gordon and Carmelo Anthony on the perimeter. He’d be an awesome outside threat.
