Would this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?
For the Los Angeles Lakers, this trade would certainly be interesting. They’d get four quality rotational pieces to play alongside LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. The real question is, would it really be worth it for them?
Los Angeles’ starting lineup would probably look something like this after this trade: Westbrook, Eric Gordon, LeBron James, Christian Wood, and Daniel Theis. They would then have Jae’Sean Tate, Avery Bradley, and Malik Monk coming off the bench.
That’s definitely a solid starting five and bench unit, but they’d be losing a ton of star power. However, that clearly hasn’t worked out for them so far this season, so many shaking things up in order to prioritize depth could actually benefit them.
Plus they would be able to ship out those three unprotected Houston Rockets picks to other rebuilding teams. Combine those with Talen Horton-Tucker’s contract, and they could bring back some seriously impactful players. That would be huge for them.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: 3 Trades We’d Love To See For Lakers’ Anthony Davis
Overall, this is probably an undoubtedly solid trade for the Lakers. Although, it’s extremely unlikely that they’d ever even consider trading Davis. So while this trade may help the Lakers out a bit in theory, it would never happen, and the Rockets probably wouldn’t even give up that much given their current state.
