Chicago Bulls Receive: F Robert Covington
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: G Coby White, F Troy Brown Jr., CHI 2026 2nd Round Pick (Top-50 Protected)

Assuming they are getting ready to start trading away players for future value, Robert Covington is first in line for Portland to trade. He is in the final year of his contract and is nothing more than a 31-year-old role player at this point for the Trail Blazers, which is why they should try and get value for him while they can.

Having both Larry Nance Jr. and Nassir Little, the Blazers would not have a problem replacing Covington at either small-forward or power-forward and they could bring in a handful of future value by trading him at the trade deadline.

Maybe Troy Brown Jr. is not someone that Portland would see as a long-term building block on the wing, but he is in the final year of his contract and would help the Blazers dip below the tax line for the season in this trade.

As for Coby White, maybe Portland does not need him either since they have Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Anfernee Simons in their backcourt, but White has proven to be an effective combo-guard in this league.

Now in his third season, Coby White is averaging 11.7 points, 2.3 assists and is shooting 38.8% from three-point range, making him a key talent on or off-the-ball.

Whether or not the Portland Trail Blazers would keep White long-term depends on any potential moves involving Lillard and McCollum, but there is certainly value to be had by acquiring the young guard from Chicago. Not to mention, he still has one more year left on his rookie contract, keeping his value relatively high.

Throughout his entire career, Robert Covington has always been a productive perimeter threat on the wing and he has always been one of the more underrated defenders league-wide. Covington has averaged at least one steal and one block per game over the course of the season in all but one season since 2016 and can wear many different hats for his team.

Not only can Robert Covington play on the wing as a small-forward in some rotations, but he has primarily played the power-forward role in Portland the last two seasons and has even seen time at center in smaller lineups.

He can defend every position, shoot at a fairly high-rate from three-point range and aid his team in rebounding, which is why Robert Covington would be the perfect defensive-minded forward that the Chicago Bulls could target at the trade deadline.
