This hypothetical trade was cooked up by Chad Ford on NBA Big Board, a paid subscription website. This piece was a follow-up to one he did in August and it details what he has heard from executives around the league. 

The trades he shared, including this one between the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers, don’t mean a deal is imminent or being discussed, but what could happen or what the executives think can work.

The Magic haven’t been a team mentioned in the Simmons sweepstakes much, as they have numerous young guards in the mix already. But, they take a swing acquiring him in this deal for some of the assets they have built up.

Terrence Ross is one of the better veteran trade chips on the market. Orlando was seeking a first-round pick, but using him as part of the package to land Simmons would certainly suffice.

Jonathan Isaac has immense two-way potential but has been unable to stay healthy. He has not appeared in a game since January 1st, 2020 because of a knee injury and still has no timetable to return.

Cole Anthony is coming into his own in his second season and could be a long-term answer in the backcourt for the 76ers.
