Would this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
This trade should be a no-brainer for the Toronto Raptors. They’ve been rolling out some long, lengthy lineups this season, so throwing Myles Turner into the mix would make sense. A trade for him would help the team both now and for the future.
Toronto’s starting lineup would look something like this – Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam, and Turner. The length, defense, and floor-spacing in that lineup is absolutely insane. If Turner can take the next step in his game, they’d be a playoff contender for years to come.
Turner’s floor-spacing and shot-blocking abilities would give Nick Nurse some very interesting lineups to play with. He’d also be by far the tallest player on the Raptors. Their two centers right now are both shorter than 6-10, while Turner is a near seven-footer.
Torrey Craig would also be thrown into this deal as a veteran wing who could provide depth. Craig is a versatile defender who can space the floor a bit as well. He would provide the Raptors with an older piece off the bench to help mentor their younger wings.

Giving up Precious Achiuwa after just getting him this past offseason might be a bit puzzling, but adding Turner would be worth it. This trade would help the current Raptors core in their quest for the playoffs. Plus, at only 25 years old, he could have a place in Toronto for years.
