Does this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?
Kemba Walker is a key talent in the Knicks’ backcourt right now since Derrick Rose is recovering from ankle surgery and Obi Toppin is a young talent that shows a lot of promise moving forward, but this is a good deal for New York.
On the season, Caris LeVert is averaging 17.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and shooting 43.6% from the floor. His 31.3% three-point shooting percentage is a bit concerning from the Knicks’ standpoint, but he is a proven offensive weapon that makes New York’s overall offense better.
LeVert began his career with the Brooklyn Nets, so seeing him in a Knicks’ uniform playing well could add some fuel to the Nets-Knicks rivalry as well!
New York currently finds themselves $17.4M under the tax line for this season and they have plenty of room to make a big deal ahead of the trade deadline.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Knicks Could Trade For Caris LeVert After Cam Reddish Deal
Adding Cam Reddish is a really strong move for the Knicks, but he is not going to be the only addition to this roster. Leon Rose and Scott Perry have money to play around with this season and with the Eastern Conference being as strong as it is, the Knicks really need another talented player like Caris Levert on their roster.
