NBA Analysis Network

The Houston Rockets had a brutal start to the 2021-22 NBA season, splitting their first two games before going on a 15-game losing streak. They won eight consecutive games after that, looking like they may be able to get back to a respectable level this season. Alas, the winning streak looks like it was a fluke, as they have done plenty of more losing since.

Houston is currently 12-31 on the season and in last place in the Western Conference. However, a lot of losing was expected as the organization made their intentions very clear; they are rebuilding.

The Rockets made four selections in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. Every player they selected was a teenager, cementing the fact that they are looking to rebuild.

As a result, they are one of the few teams that are definitely going to be sellers ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline. While they won’t be factoring into the playoff picture to compete in them, they could have an impact depending on what deals they can work out.
