Would this trade make sense for the Boston Celtics?

For Boston, this might seem like an odd trade. To be quite frank, it is extremely unlikely that they do any trade involving Jaylen Brown, let alone this one. However, if they ever do change their mind in that regard, a deal like this could be helpful.

With the way Jonas Valanciunas has been shooting this season, the team could run a double-big lineup with him and Robert Williams. Williams could defend the quicker power forwards in the league while Valanciunas mans the paint on that end.

Josh Hart would give the team a versatile defender who can cover a bunch of different positions. He would also give them a shooter to put around the perimeter. In addition, Herbert Jones would be an elite defender for the Celtics to run out, who also shoots close to 38 percent from deep.

If they made this trade, Boston’s starting lineup would look like Marcus Smart, Hart, Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams, and Valanciunas. They would then have the likes of Josh Richardson, Jones, Al Horford, and others coming off the bench.
