Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
While they could bring in a grand return for Domantas Sabonis should they trade him at the trade deadline this season, the Indiana Pacers really should not be looking to move Sabonis unless they get an irresistible offer.
This deal with the Wizards is not an irresistible offer.
Both Avdija and Kuzma offer a lot to look forward to moving forward, but trading away Myles Turner and Caris LeVert, two expendable players on the Pacers’ roster, can bring the same kind of return to this organization.
Domantas Sabonis is not the problem in Indiana right now and they should be looking to build around both him and Malcolm Brogdon moving forward. Both of these guys are two All-Star-like talents at their respective positions and by moving either LeVert and/or Turner, the Pacers could continue to build a sustainable core around their stars.

Kyle Kuzma would be a really solid replacement should the Pacers trade away Domantas Sabonis, but he is the last player that they should be looking to move this season.
