Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F/C Derrick Favors, C Mike Muscala, F Kenrich Williams
Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2025 First-Round Pick, 2027 Second-Round Pick

This can be described as desperate measures. If the Los Angeles Lakers are this desperate to trade away Westbrook, then they need to be certain that he’s the issue plaguing their team. Because this return for him is pennies on the dollar.

Derrick Favors, Mike Muscala, and Kenrich Williams are all decent rotational pieces, but none are starters in the NBA. The Lakers would be trading their starting point guard for some bench players. That’s when you know a player isn’t working out.

Favors and Muscala would help strengthen Los Angeles’ center position, at the very least, but this trade is ugly. This is a last-ditch effort for the Lakers and should only be done if they are hell-bent on getting rid of Westbrook by the trade deadline.

On the flip side, the Oklahoma City Thunder would do this for one reason and one reason only – picks. The storyline of Westbrook coming home would be awesome, but with how the Thunder have done things recently, the picks are what they are after.

Again, the Lakers wouldn’t do this trade unless they are absolutely certain they want Westbrook off the team. This is the worst-case scenario for Los Angeles. This trade should only be done if they desperately want to clear up cap space, for some reason.
