2. New York Knicks
The point guard position has been a desolate one for the New York Knicks for years. It feels as if the last time they had the point guard position truly figured out was when Clyde Frazier was leading the backcourt.
The Knicks haven’t had the same player starting at point guard in consecutive seasons since Chris Duhon in 2008 and 2009. That is something they would love to see change, as they need a player to build around at the position.
While fans are hopeful that the answer is eventually Damian Lillard, De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings wouldn’t be a bad consolation prize. Fox turned 24 years old in December and has plenty of room to continue growing.
Acquiring Fox would help alleviate the pressure that is on Julius Randle and RJ Barrett to carry the offense. Not only are they go-to scoring options, but they are left as primary playmakers as well with Derrick Rose and Kemba Walker both being sidelined.

Fox would provide excellent playmaking and someone that can get downhill with his quickness to put the defense on their heels. But, what would it cost for the Knicks to acquire him? It likely wouldn’t be cheap, but New York has the assets to pull a deal off.
Obi Toppin, who is stuck behind Randle at the power forward spot for the Knicks, could be the centerpiece of a deal. The contract of Nerlens Noel or Alec Burks could be used to match salary along with Walker or Kevin Knox.

The Knicks can offer any of their first-round picks or the extra one from the Charlotte Hornets or Dallas Mavericks they have acquired. They also have numerous second-rounders available to deal.
