Would this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?
The New York Knicks have failed to build on the breakout campaign they had put together last season. It may be time to begin making trades to acquire assets as opposed to pushing forward with the current group.
Derrick Rose has played a key role for the Knicks ever since returning to the organization. He found a real groove as a sixth-man last season—averaging 14.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. Rose earned a three-year, $43 million contract in the offseason as a result.
Immanuel Quickley and Miles McBride have shown flashes at times and the Knicks were confident enough in these options to outright bench Kemba Walker at one point.
The main concern that follows Rose is his injury history. That has become a concern once again in the first year of his new contract—a deal that already had concerns surrounding it.

Trading Rose for a pair of expiring contracts and a young talent like Coby White should be an intriguing option to give legitimate consideration.
