The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that could look to shake things up at the NBA trade deadline. At 21-19, they do not look like a team that will contend for a championship this season.

When you have LeBron James on your roster you can never be counted out, but things have not been great for Los Angeles thus far this season. James has been dominant, but the team has not always won.

Rob Pelinka took a chance in the offseason acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. The team surrendered a lot of depth in the deal hoping Westbrook would help put them over the top. The results have been mixed, at best.

Westbrook is producing good numbers, but his skill set isn’t meshing well with James and Anthony Davis. Trading for him also hamstrung what the Lakers could do when it comes to upgrading the rest of the roster.

Moving on from Westbrook is something that has been considered by the front office. There aren’t many teams that can make a deal for him midseason, but one of the teams that could theoretically swing a deal for him is the Miami Heat.
