Philadelphia 76ers

At the end of the day, all trade talks in the NBA circle back to the Philadelphia 76ers this season because everyone is just waiting to see what happens with Ben Simmons.

Daryl Morey and the 76ers’ front-office have been looking to trade Simmons since the offseason, but there are two things holding them back. The first is that they have not been able to receive the right value of an All-Star-level talent in return for Ben Simmons in trade talks and the second is that part of them still wants Ben Simmons back.

Wait… come again?

You heard that right! Part of the Philadelphia 76ers actually want Ben Simmons back.

Ben Simmons does not want to come back, the city of Philadelphia does not want him back, almost zero NBA fans want to see Ben Simmons back in a 76ers’ uniform, yet Morey and this front-office still think they can convince him to come back and play this season.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Who knows how many times the Philadelphia 76ers have tried to convince Ben Simmons to come back, but his answer is a big, fat “NO!”

Simmons wants to be traded and until he is, we may not see major trades go down in the league for cap reasons. Many teams in the Eastern Conference are watching the 76ers to see if they need to make a move to counteract what they just did with Simmons in a potential trade and the same goes out in the Western Conference, in regards to if Ben Simmons is traded to a team there.

This whole situation in Philadelphia has dragged out way too long and it is actually quite depressing to see them fighting with their three-time All-Star so much.

Maybe Ben Simmons could have handled this situation better himself, but at the end of the day, the organization started this drama with him and they really have not done their best to try and fix it.

The only way for this situation to get better is for the Philadelphia 76ers to just trade Ben Simmons for whatever they can get and it seems like we are getting closer to this point.
