Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James and general manager Rob Pelinka created a “super-team” in the offseason… or so they thought they did. The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 20-19 on the season and while this is good enough for the 6-seed in the Western Conference right now, this team is definitely not living up to expectations.
The idea of forming a team of experienced veterans, some of which were multi-time All-Stars in the past, sounded great in the offseason, but the Lakers seemed to forget there is an 82 game regular season and that you do not just magically make it to the playoffs!
This Lakers team was built for the playoffs and they could eventually figure things out, but it is hard to imagine that they will be a real title contender because they just do not look threatening outside of LeBron James.
Anthony Davis is now out indefinitely with a knee injury after not looking like himself all year, Russell Westbrook has been a rollercoaster ride that Los Angeles Lakers’ fans cannot seem to get off of and the rest of this roster is surrounded by players that do not help LeBron James in any way.

Actually, I take that back because Camrelo Anthony has actually stepped up time-and-time again for this Los Angeles Lakers team, but the rest of this bench is not good given the types of talents they need to surround James with.
With no cap space, no tradable assets and a roster that many believe should be playing at the local YMCA instead of in the NBA, what can the Lakers possibly do at the trade deadline?
Well, this is the “million dollar question” right now and if you have an answer to this, feel free to call 1-800-Help-LeBron-James-Now!

Maybe they will look to trade Russell Westbrook, but good luck finding a team that will actually want to take on his contract. Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn could be packaged together to land another somewhat high-level talent, but again, finding a team willing to take them could be tougher than imagined.
The Los Angeles Lakers have really put themselves in between a rock and a hard place this season with no end in sight for their misfortunes.
