Two Intriguing Players Linked As Trade Targets For Chicago Bulls

Bulls, NBA Rumors

With the 2021-22 NBA trade deadline becoming a more talked about subject, the Chicago Bulls could be an intriguing team to keep an eye on. At this point in the season, they are looking like a very legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference. However, adding another impact player could put them over the top as a favorite in the East.

Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic are one of the most lethal “Big Three” units in the entire NBA. Very few people will debate against that. In fact, DeRozan himself has an MVP-style campaign underway.

All of that being said, the Bulls still could look to add even more talent at the trade deadline. If they do, there are two names that are being tossed around as potential targets for Chicago.

The Athletic suggested that the Bulls could look to acquire either Jerami Grant or Harrison Barnes ahead of the NBA deadline.

Chicago also has another tantalizing possibility in its hip pocket: Patrick Williams. The fourth pick in the 2020 draft is out for the season with a wrist injury, but he could be the icing on a trade sundae for the right player. Would the Bulls consider dealing him in a Harrison Barnes package, for instance? What about for Detroit’s Jerami Grant? A Grant-for-Williams (and, um, Jones and Brown) swap has to at least get Detroit’s attention, right?

LATEST NBA NEWS NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: 3 Trades Fans Would Love To See New York Knicks Pull Off

Wow. Either one of those guys would be a massive addition for the Bulls. They would certainly take them a step higher in the NBA Finals contention rankings.

Grant has been out due to injury of late and will be out for awhile longer, but still could get moved. He has averaged 20.1 points per game to go along with 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.1 steals. In addition to those averages, Grant has also shot 41.4 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 33.1 percent of his three-point attempts.

On the other hand, Barnes has had a great season for the Kings. He has averaged 16.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Barnes has shot 45.1 percent from the floor and 41.8 percent from the three-point line.

Both of these guys would be high-profile additions for the Bulls. Whether or not they could pull off a deal with Patrick Williams being the centerpiece is the question. If they can, Chicago should go all-out to make it happen.

Expect to continue hearing more rumors about the Bulls in the coming days and weeks. With the NBA trade deadline coming up quickly, Chicago could start looking to make a move or two.
