The Player The New York Knicks Should Pursue
The New York Knicks are well-positioned to swing a blockbuster trade should the opportunity arise. The deadline is likely not when that will occur, as a blockbuster is much likelier to occur in the offseason.
A long-term answer at the point guard position is what many fans would like to see. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely Damian Lillard or even De’Aaron Fox are walking through that door in the next six weeks.
Instead, the Knicks should aim a little lower and target someone such as Caris LeVert of the Indiana Pacers. He is reportedly on the trade block with Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner.
Turner would be a strong target for the Knicks as well to help modernize their offense. But, with Mitchell Robinson, Nerlens Noel and Taj Gibson manning the middle, New York at least has good depth there.

Overall, the Knicks have solid depth up and down their roster. But, there is a lot that LeVert brings to the table that the team would benefit from. He has shown he can create offense for himself and others.
Caris LeVert has a lengthy injury history, but that should help keep his price relatively low compared to other players that may come available at the deadline.
At 27-years old, he has plenty of prime years ahead of him. He has flashed All-Star potential in the past and makes for a logical trade target for New York.
