The New York Knicks are one of the few teams well positioned to make a blockbuster trade in the NBA. Their front office led by Leon Rose, Scott Perry and William Wesley has done a phenomenal job of bringing the organization back to relevance.
For a long while, the Knicks were a laughingstock. They were a malady of errors and frequently lost. Outside of one stretch in which Carmelo Anthony carried them, they have been the worst franchise in the NBA.
But, things started to change once Rose got involved. They are no longer haphazardly trading away draft picks. There is more thought process put into free agency, not just throwing money at players who may be able to fix an issue.
As a result, the Knicks are flush with assets. They have extra first-round draft picks, which are always valuable. Young players with upside litter the roster. Veterans were signed to free-agent deals with an eye toward future moves.
