This would certainly qualify as a blockbuster trade. One All-Star being traded for a guy with All-Star upside. Both Brandon Ingram and Collin Sexton have very high ceilings, but it’s just a matter of what each team should be looking for right now.
Cleveland would be adding an All-Star wing to help them in their playoff push this season. He would form an elite young trio with Garland and Allen, setting up the Cavs for a long, fruitful future. Those three could blossom together nicely.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans would be reshaping their roster quite a bit. Maybe they don’t like the fit of Ingram and Williamson together, so adding different pieces around their franchise cornerstone would be a way of fixing that.
Sexton will be out for the remainder of the season, but he’d be a great guy to have next to Williamson for the future. He’s an absolute bucket and would provide a perimeter threat on the offensive end while Williamson controls the paint.

On top of that, the Pelicans would also be getting Lauri Markkanen, who’s begun to revive his career this season.
The real question is, why would both teams make this deal? Would the Cavs be willing to give up that much for Brandon Ingram? Should the New Orleans Pelicans bail on Ingram this early on? What’s the explanation?
