Would this trade make sense for the Brooklyn Nets?
For the Brooklyn Nets, this would see them go all-in on talent instead of depth. By getting a star like Christian Wood, they would be further cementing themselves as one of the favorites in the East. He’d be their starting power forward or center moving forward.
Right now, a lot of different guys are rotating in and out of the starting lineup for Brooklyn at the big man position. Players like Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Bruce Brown are all getting chances to start at the four and five.
Adding Wood would create a level of consistency at those positions, as he’d be an immediate upgrade over any and all of those players. He’s got the talent to be an All-Star-caliber player in the NBA, and while he obviously wouldn’t get as many opportunities in Brooklyn, he’d still play a big role for them.
The loss of Brown would be the biggest hit for the Nets, as he’s played a fairly large role for them for the past two years. He may be undersized, but his role as a screener and a cutter has been crucial to the offensive gameplan of the Brooklyn Nets.

That being said, when you’re trading for a player as talented as Wood, sacrifices are necessary. Losing out on Brown would be worth it to bring Wood back. But would the Houston Rockets be interested in this sort of deal?
