The Atlanta Hawks could be a very intriguing team to keep an eye on as the NBA trade deadline approaches this season. Rumors have been swirling that they could look to make a move, although nothing serious has come up as of yet. Atlanta has trade chips like Cam Reddish and Danilo Gallinari who have been mentioned in the rumor mill, but no reports have come out that they are actually shopping either of the two.

At this point in the season, the Hawks hold a 16-20 record. They desperately need to string a few wins together and find their consistency moving forward. If they don’t, moves at the deadline seem very possible.

According to a report from The Athletic, there are two members of the Hawks who are most likely to be dealt. Those players would be none other than Reddish and Gallinari.

Veteran forward Danilo Gallinari (just $5 million of his $21.4 million guaranteed on his deal for next season) and third-year small forward Cam Reddish, it seems, are the most likely candidates to be headed out. The urgency is likely on the rise, as this Hawks team that was fifth in the East last season before its playoff run has now fallen to 12th (16-20; 27th in defensive rating).

So far this season with the Hawks, Reddish has been thriving in his bigger role. He has averaged 12.5 points per game to go along with 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Reddish has shot 40.9 percent from the floor overall and has knocked down 38.6 percent of his three-point attempts.

Gallinari, on the other hand, has averaged just 9.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He has played in 22.3 minutes per game and simply isn’t an integral piece for the Hawks right now. Another team could give Atlanta much more value in a trade than they are currently getting from Gallinari.

This will be an interesting situation to keep an eye on. If the Hawks deem it necessary to make a move, they could add a very nice piece or pieces by trading Cam Reddish and Danilo Gallinari. They may opt to stand pat, but these are two guys to watch closely as the trade deadline draws closer.
