Would this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
The Washington Wizards put together a truly impressive start to the 2021-22 season but they’ve called off significantly since then. The team wants to remain competitive but the
Cam Reddish has shown a lot of potential when he’s been given the opportunity to do so. The Hawks will need to determine if they want to pay De’Andre Hunter or Reddish since it may be a real challenge to retain both players with the other contracts they’ve handed out.
The Wizards would have no issue paying Reddish and he could immediately step into a massive role if he were to be dealt in exchange for Beal.
There was plenty to like about Onyeka Okongwu when he entered the NBA Draft process but injuries and a lack of opportunities have kept him from showcasing what he can achieve. For now, he remains a largely unproven talent and that should reflect in his trade value.

It helps that Danilo Gallinari has only $5 million of his $21.5 million salary for 2022-23 guaranteed. Waiving him or using his contract in a trade before the guarantee date could be a helpful asset while reducing the Wizards’ overall spending obligations.
The main question that comes to mind when evaluating this NBA trade scenario has to do with the intention of the Washington Wizards going for a package that is so heavily focused on Cam Reddish and involving Bradley Beal to do it. Why not just trade for Reddish separately? Beal could still be moved in a separate deal if a rebuild was desired.
