1. Oklahoma City Thunder
After moving on from Russell Westbrook and Paul George, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in asset collection mode. At some point, they will need to use those picks with a clear focus in doing so.
The key franchise-cornerstone for the Thunder is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is currently in the process of potentially earning his first All-Star appearance. He is averaging an impressive 22.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists after putting up even better stats in 35 games in 2020-21.
At some point, the Thunder need to find a long-term solution to anchor their defense and to be a rim-roller setting screens for Gilgeous-Alexander to elevate their half-court offense. Teams are able to load up on Gilgeous-Alexander knocking they aren’t going to get made to pay.
How fascinating would it be if Gilgeous-Alexander went from having a player like Derrick Favors or Steven Adams setting him screens to a superstar like Anthony Davis?

The main concern would obviously be whether the Oklahoma City Thunder would be able to keep Davis around long-term if they were to pull off a trade for him. In the long-term future, the idea would be that playing alongside a talent like Gilgeous-Alexander would be intriguing enough.
