3. Memphis Grizzlies
When looking at the Western Conference standings from top to bottom, perhaps what stands out the most is the Memphis Grizzlies holding the fourth spot
Recently, the Memphis Grizzlies played 12 games without their superstar point guard Ja Morant and managed to pull off an impressive 10-2 record within that stretch. Now, Memphis holds a 3.5 game lead over the LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets for their current placement out West.
Ja Morant is well on his way to being a first-time All-Star with averages of 23.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists. He has transformed the Grizzlies franchise in an inspiring way. Now, imagine if he had Anthony Davis as a co-star?
The main apprehension for the Memphis Grizzlies would be their confidence in being able to keep Davis around long-term in Memphis. If they feel he is focused on winning and location isn’t his top priority, then making that push could be a logical option.
