Does this trade make sense for the Oklahoma City Thunder?
If they can get Marvin Bagley III for two role players that are going to be moved in any deal this season, then Sam Presti deserves Executive of the Year. The job Presti has done building this young roster and acquiring a plethora of draft picks is amazing and this would be yet another incredible move he could make for this franchise.
Bagley definitely comes with a lot of injury concerns given his issues of staying on the floor through the years, but he is a talented big man and his numbers back this up.
In 132 total games to this point in his young career, Marvin Bagley has averaged 13.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and has shot 49.8% from the floor. Given his athleticism and potential to be a two-way threat, Bagley is everything the Thunder need next to guys like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey on this roster.
Right now, Darius Bazley is the Thunder’s only real forward in the frontcourt and his status moving forward is up-in-the-air, as Oklahoma City could move him in the future. Marvin Bagley would move right into the starting power-forward spot on this roster and give the Thunder a key big man to build with and around next to other young stars.
