Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: F Marvin Bagley III, CHI/DET 2022 2nd Round Pick (Less Favorable, via SAC), SAC 2024 2nd Round Pick
Sacramento Kings Receive: F Kenrich Williams, C Mike Muscala

Marvin Bagley III is in the final year of his contract and is set to become a restricted free agent in the summer. The Sacramento Kings did not extend him ahead of the start of the season and his role has been cut in half from when he first joined the team, which is why Bagley will likely be going elsewhere in the offseason.

The Kings are going to be searching for any kind of value they can get and while they do want “first-round value” for him, they could be willing to settle for a little bit less.

Both Kenrich Williams and Mike Muscala are players that could be on the move at the trade deadline and both guys are role players that present a “win-now” mindset to any team they get traded to. Neither player is an elite-level talent, but they can both hold their own and aid their team in multiple different ways.

Last season, Williams shot 44.4% from three-point range and this season, he is shooting 40.3% from long-range. He is also a versatile wing defender that can guard a couple of different positions and Kenrich Williams is also a smart ball-handler.

Mike Muscala is in his 9th NBA season and has always been a big man that can stretch the floor on offense. For his career, Muscala has shot 37.4% from deep and is a big man that excels at stepping out on the perimeter in pick-and-roll situations.

The Thunder are 12-20 and are not going to be making any kind of run this NBA season, but they play hard and have actually exceeded early season expectations of many. They are a tough team to play because of their athleticism and youth, which is why Marvin Bagley III could fit right in.

Being in the final year of his rookie deal, the Thunder would have all the leverage pertaining to Bagley and they really have nothing to lose.

Should he fit in, they can offer him a long-term deal to be their starting power-forward and if he underachieves, they simply let him walk with no repercussions.
