Would this trade make sense for the Chicago Bulls?
The Chicago Bulls were aggressive last NBA trade deadline and this set them up for what went down during free agency. Now, the Bulls are off to a hot start this season and this shows the direction they are headed. White might not be part of that future and this is where a trade comes into play.
Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan make up the new-look backcourt for the Bulls. They are both new acquisitions and it seems to be working over the first two weeks of the season.
Coby White has not played spent the start of the season recovering from shoulder surgery. He has put together some big performances at times but largely has struggled in his 11 performance—averaging 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while going just 36.5% from the field.
The front office could decide that White benefits the team more in a trade than he would come off the bench. If this is the case, the Bulls could take advantage of whatever value White currently has.
