Does this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?
Quite honestly, I think the New York Knicks should be willing to offer up Julius Randle and two first-round picks for Damian Lillard. I do not care if they have to trade Madison Square Garden to the Portland Trail Blazers and have to relocate somewhere else!
The Knicks need Damian Lillard and quite honestly, Lillard needs them just as bad.
The All-Star can say that he is happy in Portland all he wants and that he wants to build something special there, which does seem true, but how realistic is this? Lillard has been in the league for ten seasons now and not once have the Portland Trail Blazers looked to make a big move to surround him with other high-level talents.
Maybe having Joe Cronin as their interim general manager will change this front-office’s approach to trades and they will finally be aggressive in terms of looking to add talent, but now 31-years-old, Damian Lillard needs to be thinking about his future.

The Portland Trail Blazers are not going to compete for a title in the foreseeable future and while maybe the New York Knicks will not either, he has a much better chance of doing so with the Knicks, and best of all, he is in New York.
The business ventures that would present themselves to Lillard in “The Big Apple” would be endless and that is one of the reasons why the Knicks should be an attractive destination to several All-Stars over the next few years.
This organization is proving that they can compete and win again and who would not want to play in Madison Square Garden?
