Picked to finish dead-last in the league this year, the Oklahoma City Thunder have actually begun the 2021-22 NBA season as a solid-looking team. They are one of the youngest teams in the league this year and it is definitely a long shot to think this team can make the playoffs.

The job GM Sam Presti has done building this young team has been quite impressive, but he’s not done making big moves quite yet. The Thunder have gathered a total of 35 draft picks through the 2028 NBA Draft, meaning that this organization has plenty of moves up their sleeves for the coming years.

Maybe the Thunder will target an All-Star talent to lead their young players or maybe they will just keep all these draft picks and continue to stockpile some of the best prospects in the league! Whatever the case may be in Oklahoma City, we should expect nothing less than success from Presti and this front office.

Shi Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, Darius Bazley, Josh Giddey, and others make up a really strong-looking young core on this roster, but veteran big man Derrick Favors seems like a player that OKC is going to look to move on from.

Being owed $9.7M this season and then $10.2M if he opts into his player option next season, Favors does have a very moveable contract and he could definitely make a difference for several teams across the NBA looking to add some more frontcourt depth.

One of those teams who could be in need of another big man is the Detroit Pistons, who recently received some negative news in regards to Kelly Olynyk.

The Pistons announced on November 11 that Olynyk had suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee and will be further re-evaluated in six weeks, meaning that we will not have an update on his condition until around Christmas.

The Pistons are rebuilding like the Oklahoma City Thunder and are looking to build with their young core they have in place, but with Isaiah Stewart being the only real big man left on this roster, they could look to add Favors as a key veteran.

Should the Detroit Pistons have real interest in Derrick Favors and what would they have to give up to acquire the now 12-year NBA veteran?
