1. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks had an offseason some analysts weren’t fans of, but they stayed the course, providing future flexibility while improving the team for next season. Leon Rose has a plan and he stuck to it, something that was refreshing to see in New York.
They added more future draft picks by trading back multiple times in the 2021 NBA Draft. The roster was upgraded this season, but with the last year of every player signed being a team option, the team maintained maximum flexibility going forward.
The Knicks are in position to make a big splash in the future. They have the assets and contracts to make a deal and a long-term option at the point guard position could be what they spend it on.
New York has been connected to Damian Lillard, but De’Aaron Fox is someone that they should seriously consider as well. Fox is seven years younger than Lillard, better fitting the timeline that the New York Knicks are on. While not on Lillard’s level currently, he would cost considerably less to land in a trade as well.

Any All-Star caliber player that is looking for a change of scenery, New York has the pieces to put a deal together for. Should the Kings and Fox look to split, the New York Knicks should seriously consider putting in an offer.
