Does this trade make sense for the Milwaukee Bucks?
Getting their hands on Mo Bamba would work wonders for the Milwaukee Bucks, especially since they rank 25th in the league in blocked shots and could use another interior defender next to Bobby Portis.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a 2x MVP and a former Defensive Player of the Year, so he is more than capable of sliding over to the center position here and there, but Milwaukee needs to begin to consider that Brook Lopez has played his final game with the team.
The veteran big man is now 33-years-old, he has not been overly productive when healthy and will be entering the final year of his contract next season. The Bucks could realistically trade Lopez in the offseason to get out of his contract, but they need to have some valid options to replace him in the frontcourt.
Bobby Portis has cemented himself as a core player for the Bucks and he has been fantastic for them this season, but they have nobody other than Portis in their frontcourt they can depend on to rebound and defend the paint.

Having Mo Bamba gives the Bucks another 7-footer who can not only help make them an even better rebounding team than they currently are, but another big body that can alter an opponent’s shots.
Bamba currently ranks second in the league in blocked shots per game (2.2) and is averaging a near double-double on the season.
Being only 23-years-old, he is a guy that the Bucks could invest in for the future and solidify their frontcourt with three tall and dynamic players in Antetokounmpo, Portis and Bamba.
Losing Donte DiVincenzo would definitely be a loss on the perimeter for the Bucks, but the good news for them is that they acquired Grayson Allen in the offseason to replace DiVincenzo and they still have Pat Connaughton, who is one of the better “sixth-men” in the league in terms of playing his role to perfection.

The Milwaukee Bucks will be just fine getting rid of DiVincenzo and they will only improve defensively with the addition of Bamba in their frontcourt.
