Does this trade make sense for the Orlando Magic?

Trading away Mo Bamba is not something that the Orlando Magic have shown indications of them doing, but it is definitely an intriguing idea since he is in the final year of his contract. Finally getting to prove his worth in Orlando, Bamba has seized his opportunities and is increasing his value every single night he plays.

The Magic have the ability to keep him, especially since he is set to be a restricted free agent in the offseason, but the question this front-office needs to ask themselves is if they really need him?

Wendell Carter Jr. has been fantastic for them and having both Chuma Okeke and Jonathan Isaac as well, the Magic do have options in their frontcourt should they get rid of Bamba. On the other side of things though, they could easily flip someone else in favor of keeping Mo Bamba on their roster.

Ultimately, if they can get a first-round pick and another young talent for Bamba, they should make the trade, but they do not get this kind of value in this trade with Milwaukee. Donte DiVincenzo is worth trading for given the energy he brings on the perimeter, but Semi Ojeleye is a player the Milwaukee Bucks signed on a minimum contract this year.

He did not play well in Boston through the years and has held a minimal role with the Bucks, so why would the Orlando Magic want him? The value Orlando gets in return for Mo Bamba here is very minimal and seeing as they would be in the driver’s seat for any trade involving Bamba, they need to dictate the terms of the trade.

This deal favors Milwaukee more than them, which is why they should not look to trade Mo Bamba to the Bucks.
