Trading Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier away at the trade deadline last NBA season, the Orlando Magic entered another rebuilding process, one that actually does look promising. Orlando has a bunch of young assets on their roster now and with more returning from injury soon, the Magic seem to be in a good place as a franchise in terms of their future looking bright.
Second-year guard Cole Anthony has been playing like one of the most improved players in the league, rookie Franz Wagner has been better than he was advertised and 22-year-old big man Wendell Carter Jr. has been a double-double machine for Orlando and is currently tied for 8th in the league in double-doubles.
Another young talent playing really well for this team right now is Mo Bamba. Drafted 6th overall in 2018, this is really the first year that Bamba is getting to showcase his abilities on the floor because of the fact that Vucevic has always been the Magic’s starting center.
Prior to this season, Mo Bamba had only averaged roughly 15 minutes per game, resulting in his numbers and impact being very minimal. Now, he is averaging just under 30 minutes per game, 10.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and is shooting 45.7% from the floor, 32.4% from three-point range.

Standing 7’0” tall with a 7’10” wingspan, Bamba is everything teams are looking for in a young center today, which is why he could draw quite a bit of interest on the trade market.
There are no indications on whether or not Orlando is going to look to move Mo Bamba since he is in the final year of his rookie contract and earning himself a big contract in the offseason, but should they look to trade him, the Milwaukee Bucks could be a team that shows interest.
Brook Lopez has been out since he played on opening night against the Brooklyn Nets due to a back injury that he recently had surgery on. With no timetable for his return in sight and the Bucks’ frontcourt being thin, Mo Bamba could immediately make an impact for the defending champions.
