Where will the Philadelphia 76ers end up moving him? That is yet to be seen but we do know that they want a productive player in return.
If this is the case, James Harden or Jaylen Brown could be trade pieces.
While both might seem unrealistic, or realistic depending on your opinion, they are players that have been linked to Simmons — one more than the other.
The buzz around a Simmons-Harden trade began in the offseason. It took a break at the beginning of the regular season and seems to be back again. The Nets are currently at the top of the Eastern Conference. As long as Kevin Durant is there, the Nets should be in good shape in the standings. This trade might not make sense for the Nets, especially with Kyrie Irving inactive, but the two sides have been linked.

Daryl Morey was interested in reuniting with James Harden last winter. The two spent years together in Houston. Instead, the guard went to Brooklyn and created a big three at the time. This trade would create two interesting pairs — Durant-Simmons and Embiid-Harden.
Philadelphia has also eyed Jaylen Brown in recent weeks. He missed some time this season with an injury but is an offensive powerhouse that can dominate on the perimeter. This sounds like a fit, except for the fact that he would have to defer to Embiid. The fit with Harden seems better because of his ability to pass the ball despite his reputation as an isolation player.
While the Sixers might be interested, this does not seem like a deal that the Celtics would make. Brown has been an influential voice for the Celtics on and off the floor. He is one of the leaders on the team. It would be surprising to see Brown be moved for a point guard who struggles to score and hasn’t to played at all this season.

It would be less of a surprise to see Simmons go to Brooklyn. If Irving ever returns, this would give the Nets flexibility to play Simmons in a different position, which should be.
The moral of the story is that we are no closer to finding out where Simmons is going to go. What we do know is that he is available and the Sixers are in no rush to make a deal. They have a playoff team without Simmons and have leverage at the moment.
