How This Trade Impacts Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers showed they are not afraid to shake things up. They overhauled their entire roster this offseason intending to make some noise in the Western Conference once again.
There are a lot of new faces, and in this deal, the team adds one more in Eric Gordon. However, this trade package should be a non-starter for them.
Parting ways with Talen Horton-Tucker in a deal for Gordon would be extremely short-sighted. The organization wouldn’t part ways with him in trade negotiations for Kyle Lowry, so it would be hard to imagine them being open to trading him for an inferior player in Gordon.
Attaching Kendrick Nunn to Horton-Tucker in this deal would also leave Los Angeles short in the backcourt. Rajon Rondo would be the only backup point guard on the team, as Horton-Tucker has also shown an ability to run some offense.

Gordon has also dealt with numerous injuries in recent season but he’s back to playing at a high-level — averaging 14.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists this season while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor and 43.6 percent from beyond teh arc.
